Motorola G Pro announcement: Price, Features, Availability, and more
Motorola has just announced the release of the Moto G Stylus to Europe, but under a new name: the Moto G Pro.
2020 has been a busy year for Motorola. The company launched its first flagship smartphones in a long time, the Motorola Edge and Edge+, as well as launching new mid-range devices including the Motorola Moto G Power, Moto G Stylus, and the Moto Razr, amongst others.
When is the G Pro launching?
The original model of the Pro – named Moto G Stylus outside of Europe was launched in the US back in February 2020.
While the Moto G Pro is now featured on Motorola’s European sites with the option to ‘register for updates’.
No set date is appearing yet for a general release, but we suspect it isn’t far away.
How much does it cost?
The Moto G Stylus hit the US market unlocked at $299.99, which is quite a fair price compared to other Pro version.
Based on how the pricing of the company’s other devices usually converts, UK pricing would be around £269.99, while European pricing would see the Pro priced at around €299.
Moto G Pro’s main features
The G Pro’s standout feature is the inclusion of stylus support and an integrated stylus built into the phone’s design.
The G Pro adds a fair amount extra over the original G8 model though. While its screen is the same size, at 6.4-inches, it brings more resolution (1080 x 2300 vs the basic model’s 720 x 1560).
Then there’s the G Pro’s camera setup: it’s a triple rear arrangement, comprising 48-megapixel main, 16MP wide-angle (and video camera), and 2MP macro.
Other specs are familiar: a 4,000mAh battery capacity to bring long life (same as the G8 and G8 Power), the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor with 4GB RAM, 128GB storage, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and rear-positioned fingerprint scanner.
